Hotel Hilton Reviews and Information
Hilton Hotel Prague is a business hotel and you should bear this fact in your mind when making your reservation. This is a very large hotel with all the advantages and disadvantages of it. The building itself is built as a square with open atrium in the middle. This gives you the feeling of huge open space - sort of inner courtyard - when sitting in the lobby. It also causes the occupants of inner rooms to have no daylight and look directly into the rooms at the opposite side of the hall. If you happen to get such room you also can't open the window without hearing all the noise from the lobby and smelling cigarettes and restaurants. The location of Hilton Hotel Prague is less than ideal being close to the center but not IN the center of Prague. It either takes some 20 minutes walk or you use the taxi. Metro station Florenc is 5 minutes away so it can be good idea to try Metro. As for services, Hilton Hotel Prague becomes, in our humbe opinion (and out of our experience of over 10 years) more and more like a money machine. The reconstruction in undrgoes was badly needed and upgraded rooms are much nicer indeed. But many guests were not warned (esp. during the first year of the works) regarding the noise and we didn't hear about any discounts either (which is a norm in the industry). Attitude of the management is sometimes appaling - it seems they have the policy of making no concessions to their partners at all (unless you are a key travel agency perhaps). An example: company organizes a group of about 100 guest from USA at the Hilton Hotel Prague. In the end, the group needs 4 more rooms. The management at all levels flatly denies to increase the number of rooms and you end up putting 4 couples in another hotel. Isn't it easier to upgrade 4 individual guests to other hotel? They didn't do it because individual guests pay couple of dollars more per night... The management privately admits this is a problematic approach and many partners prefer cooperation with other hotels today. However, when organizing a large conference Hilton Hotel Prague becomes often indespensible. Conventions are also the only reason you should at all be considering this hotel. Their premises are large and flexible and Hilton can provide for proffesional solutions. Oooops - actually not always, sometimes they are just not able to connect you to Internet... We do like the breakfasts at the Hilton. It's restaurants are also fairly good if overpriced (as are all the services). Another advantage is a nice swimming pool and a real large gym.
